Abu Dhabi Set to Open World’s Largest Artificial Surf Park

Abu Dhabi is gearing up to unveil the world’s largest artificial surf park, Surf Abu Dhabi, along with a massive velodrome and urban park on Hudayriyat Island.

The ambitious project, part of a comprehensive masterplan by Modon Properties, is set to open at the end of 2023. Surf Abu Dhabi, designed in collaboration with the Kelly Slater Wave Co., promises to be a premier destination for surfers, offering the longest ride, biggest barrel, and the largest man-made wave pool in the world. The velodrome, named Velodrome Abu Dhabi, will feature the region’s first UCI Category 1 indoor cycling track, capable of hosting international championships. Additionally, a sprawling 2.25 million square meter urban park will provide a range of outdoor activities, including elevated cycling tracks, a mangrove walk, eco-farming spaces, playgrounds, and an events valley.

The masterplan also includes residential properties, new beaches, and an extensive coastline development. The project reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to pioneering urban development under the guidance of its leaders.
