Buika – An Evening for the Soul

Buika’s music is a fusion of flamenco, Spanish copla, jazz and soul, infused with the rhythms of the Gypsy neighbors she grew up with in Mallorca.

Frequently compared to stars such as Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf, Nina Simone and Amy Winehouse, Buika was nominated for the 2008 Latin Grammy Award Album of the Year for her album “Niña de Fuego.

Her album “La Noche Más Larga” was nominated for Best Latin Jazz Album at the Annual Grammy Awards in 2014.

Buika has duetted with everyone from Pat Metheny and Anoushka Shankar to Nelly Furtado and Seal.”
