Chinese automotive manufacturer, Hongqi, recently held a grand event on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi to showcase its five car models available in the region. Amidst a vibrant display of flashing lights, music, and dry ice, the manufacturer presented its luxury car lineup, including the H5 sedan, Ousado sedan, H9 sedan, HS5 SUV, and the electric vehicle E-HS9. With a design concept of “new nobility and exquisiteness,” these vehicles aim to take on high-end brands like Mercedes and Audi.
Hongqi, which made its debut in China in 1958 as the country’s oldest car marque, was initially created for domestic VIPs. However, in recent years, the brand has expanded its reach to a wider audience. In the UAE, Hongqi already has a showroom in Abu Dhabi and the vehicles are priced starting from Dh81,900 for the H5, Dh109,000 for the Ousado and HS5, Dh228,900 for the H9, and topping out at Dh320,900 for the E-HS9.
